Description

We are seeking a creative and driven UI/UX Designer to design and enhance the user experience of Fianu’s enterprise SaaS platform. The ideal candidate will be a highly-creative, out-of-the-box thinker with great empathy for users, capable of crafting functional, easy-to-use user interfaces that are simple, intuitive, and beautiful. With a deep understanding of UI/UX design principles and a passion for creating seamless experiences, you will collaborate with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to simplify the complexity of DevSecOps governance while aligning with Fianu’s mission to deliver secure and compliant software pipelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design Intuitive Interfaces: Create visually appealing, user-friendly interfaces for Fianu’s platform, ensuring a seamless experience for enterprise users managing compliance gates, software inventories, and policy enforcement
  • User Research & Testing: Conduct user research, usability testing, and gather feedback to understand the needs of DevSecOps professionals, translating insights into actionable design improvements
  • Wireframing & Prototyping: Develop wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes to communicate design concepts and iterate based on stakeholder and user feedback
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with product managers, developers, and DevOps engineers to ensure designs are technically feasible and align with Fianu’s integration-heavy architecture
  • Maintain Design Consistency: Establish and maintain a design system to ensure consistency across Fianu’s platform, including dashboards, policy management tools, and evidence ledgers
  • Stay Current: Keep up with the latest UI/UX trends, tools, and technologies to continuously improve the platform’s user experience
  • Simplify Complexity: Translate complex DevSecOps workflows (e.g., compliance audits, pipeline monitoring) into intuitive, easy-to-navigate interfaces that empower users

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Deep Understanding of UI/UX Principles: Proven expertise in designing intuitive, user-centered interfaces with a focus on usability, accessibility, and aesthetics
  • Tool Proficiency: At least one year of experience using Figma as a primary wireframing tool
  • Creative Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to think outside the box, delivering innovative design solutions that balance functionality and beauty
  • User Empathy: Strong ability to understand and advocate for user needs, creating interfaces that are simple, intuitive, and delightful to use
  • Design Taste: Exceptional taste in visual design, with a portfolio showcasing clean, modern, and enterprise-grade interfaces
  • Software Development Knowledge: Basic understanding of software development, build processes, and deployment at scale, particularly in enterprise SaaS environments
  • Personal Attributes:

  • Portfolio: A strong portfolio demonstrating UI/UX design projects, preferably for SaaS or enterprise software platforms
  • Location: Must be located in or willing to relocate to Washington, DC, for in-office work; remote candidates will be considered only if exceptionally talented

Preferred Qualifications

  • DevOps Experience: Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, or toolchain integrations (e.g., GitHub, Jenkins, Jira) is a significant plus, given Fianu’s focus on DevSecOps governance
  • Enterprise SaaS Experience: Experience designing for enterprise-grade platforms with complex workflows and diverse user roles
  • Data Visualization: Experience designing dashboards or data-heavy interfaces, as Fianu’s platform involves visualizing compliance data and software metadata
  • Agile Environment: Comfort working in an agile development environment with rapid iteration cycles
  • Educational Background: Degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Interaction Design, Graphic Design, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
